A skin fade at European Barber takes the sides and back down to the skin and melts them seamlessly into a hand-finished scissor top, crafted by Ahmet, a barber with more than 33 years of experience, at the shop inside Spectra Apartments in Redmond’s Marymoor Village.

Clippers for the fade, scissors for the top
European Barber is known for scissor work, and a skin fade is where clippers and scissors work together. Clippers and a foil shaver create the fade from skin up, then the top is cut and blended with scissors so the transition looks seamless instead of stepped. The fade height (low, mid or high) is set to suit your head shape and hairline.
Price and booking
Skin Fade Haircut: $50, about 30 minutes. See available times in the booking calendar. For a softer look without skin on the sides, choose a scissor haircut ($50, 30 minutes).
Common questions
How long does a skin fade last?
A skin fade looks sharpest for about 1 to 2 weeks. Most clients book every 2 to 3 weeks to keep the fade clean.
What is the difference between a skin fade and a taper?
A skin fade goes all the way down to bare skin across the sides and back. A taper shortens gradually but keeps some length, usually only at the sideburns and neckline.
